about
Lauridsen Ballet Centre is a home for the serious student interested in celebrating the art of dance. The creativity and love of dance will enhance your child’s life experience. Our faculty is dedicated to nurturing, developing, and guiding young dancers through the world of ballet in a professional, caring and healthy environment. We appreciate the opportunity to share the excitement, challenge and beauty of dance and believe wholeheartedly that ballet improves confidence, concentration, coordination, memorization, discipline and teamwork.
Our students are privileged to study in a traditional ballet atmosphere with live piano accompaniment. The school’s teaching staff boasts professionals and guest artists from world-renowned ballet companies. Diane Lauridsen, Lorin Johnson, and Alicia Head make up our senior teaching staff. Lauridsen Ballet Centre and its non-profit performing Company, South Bay Ballet, are internationally recognized for integrity, strict guidelines and the highest quality training that provides pre-professional performances enjoyed by patrons throughout the Southland.
“Lauridsen Ballet Centre is a very impressive school, which has turned out remarkable talent. Under the guidance of Diane Lauridsen, the extensive and thorough training leaves no stone unturned.” John Meehan, former Director of Education, American Ballet Theatre, New York; and current artistic director of Ballet Hong Kong.
